The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Act No. XXXVIII of 1949) for the regulation of the profession of Chartered Accountants in India. During its 64 years of existence, ICAI has achieved recognition as a premier accounting body not only in the country but also globally, for its contribution in the fields of education, professional development, maintenance of high accounting, auditing and ethical standards. ICAI now is the second largest accounting body in the whole world.
About Nellore Branch of ICAI
Nellore Branch of SIRC of ICAI was established in the year 2007. Our Branch was inaugurated by Past President of ICAI Padmasri CA.T.N.Manoharn. Our Branch has more than 135 members and 1000 students at present. In the year 2008, the branch has established Computer Lab for pursuing ITT Course by IPCC students. With the initiative of past President CA.Uttam Prakash Agarwal, CA examination centre was established in the year 2009. At present, more than 600 students are appearing for CA examinations at Nellore. In the year 2010, the Government of AP has allotted One ( 1) Acre of Land to our branch for constructing “ICAI Bhawan”. On 2nd May, 2010 the Foundation Stone was laid by Sri. K Rosaiah,Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. We have constructed the building within a period 1 ½ years. Our “ICAI Bhawan” was inaugurated by President of ICAI CA.G.Ramaswamy on 30th December,2011. At present we are operating the branch with all infrastructure facilities and conducting ITT, Orientation and GMCS classes for CA Students and CPE Programmes for members
